Biography

Dreamy light sounds, clear vocals, and good feelings is what Sarah's music is made of. With a modern pop edge and lyrical sweet sound she brings the trials of everyday life to song. Inspired by the road that leads her through life she draws on personal experiences and turns them into a positive and uplifting melody.

"I write from the heart and I write the lyrics so that everyone can relate. From having a bad day at work or the start of a new relationship. It's things that everyone goes through that I want to write about. That way more people can connect to my music."

With just an eMac, a Casio Keyboard, a flute, and an acoustic guitar Sarah creates flowing melodies with a wonderful pop construction. For the past two years Sarah has been educating herself through books, online communities such as MacJams and learning new instruments like guitar recently. For only 6 months she has been playing guitar and has written a handful of songs with the instrument. She's also a flutist and combines the beautiful sound in songs like "It Means Everything" and "Beyond the Stars."

A dancer from age 3, Sarah is trained in classical ballet (pointe), musical theater, and baton twirling. She made it to the World Championships in 2005 for baton twirling. The ultimate goal for her twirling career was finally reached and Sarah decided to retire and focus on teaching dance and developing her music. The last 4 years she has been teaching ballet, jazz, and hip hop to young aspiring dance students at Greendell Baton and Dance.

"All I ever wanted was to make it to Worlds and when I did last summer I had fulfilled my dream. That's all I needed to do. I worked hard and it was worth it. I now want to work on something new. It's a new chapter in my life and I feel I could achieve whatever I want as long as I dedicate myself entirely."

After winning the Radiostar Regional Songwriting competition, she is now working to carve an image and sound that will be fluent throughout all her work. "I want to have a mature sound that has a positive message, a beautiful melody, and gives you goosebumps."

Watch for Sarah as she doesn't plan on slowing down and taking her time. There's so much to do and learn and it's only the beginning.
